“Loved every minute, thank you. High Chapel is the perfect seaside bolthole. Great house, great location, even great neighbours!”
Lounge
Entering the lounge from the raised balcony outside, you are greeted by a unique double height spacious room making the most of many of the Chapel’s original features including a cathedral style ceiling, exposed stonework, large gothic style windows and oak flooring. Two comfortable sofas, a large wood burning stove and under-flooring heating make this a warm and welcoming space. The oak dining table sits up to 8 people along two original chapel pews. From the lounge there are beautiful sea views across Runswick Bay.
Kitchen
The classic contemporary kitchen leading from the lounge, allows for the free flow of conversation between the two rooms. A modern electric stainless steel range cooker provides ample cooking capacity, surrounded by granite worktops and freestanding units below. The Belfast sink and accompanying maple woodwork tops are also supported by an integral dishwasher.
Utility room
Off the kitchen is a utility / store room, providing a Fridge Freezer, Washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as ample cloak room and storage space. Ask about bunk accommodation for occasional additional sleeping capacity.
Bathroom
The ground floor bathroom is furnished with a large separate free-standing shower, roll top bath, toilet and sink. The room is complimented by its beautifully tiled floor with under floor heating and a heated towel rail.
Staircase and landing
A contemporary Oak and Glass staircase lead from the lounge to the first floor bedrooms.
Bedrooms
Maintaining the ambience of the chapel throughout, both bedrooms have high pitched ceilings, light and airy gothic shaped windows and oak flooring. Both rooms have sea and beach glimpses from their cushioned window seats. Bedroom one offers an iron king size bed, large free standing wardrobe and bedside table. Bedroom two provides two pretty full size single beds with “truckle” beds below to pull out if required, providing sleeping accommodation for two / three adults or up to four children in this room. There is also a chest of drawers and a flat screen TV and DVD player, with internet on demand TV services (films etc.) through BT Vision.
Parking
Parking for High Chapel is available in the village public pay and display car park situated approximately 200 metres away from the chapel. “What an amazing place you have here. Wonderful views upon a most beautiful place.”
“What a luxurious home away from home this lovely chapel is. We both happy sighed when we walked through the front door. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need and the roll top bath was divine. We loved exploring the higgeldy-piggeldyness of the village itself and then coming back to this haven of peace and lighting the huge log burner was just perfect.”
“What a fantastic house in an amazing location. We felt at home after 5 mins! The cliff walks – both north and south were incredible. Loads of brilliant photos and memories.”
